AICH

Students who pass the ICH Diploma Examination are invited to join The Association of the Institute of Clinical Hypnosis (or AICH).

It is through this body that the ICH offers continuing professional support. Consultancy, marketing and networking services are provided and, of course, peer group support is available through meetings and an AICH e-group. A Referrals Database is also maintained for the benefit of AICH members. This allows AICH members to have their details listed on the database (including any areas of specialism) so that other AICH members can refer patients/cases with whom they cannot or do not wish to deal to other AICH members. A small annual fee (currently £35) is charged for membership of the AICH.

Invitations to join the AICH are sent to those who pass the July Diploma Examination with their results and at a reduced annual fee. Those who pass the Diploma Examination in December of each year receive an invitation to join for the forthcoming year with their results. Otherwise, membership renewals are issued by post in December of each year.

Once you have joined, Subscription renewals need to be returned by the date specified in your membership renewal letter (normally mid-January) in order for your membership of the AICH to continue. In the event that your Subscription renewal is received after your membership has ceased, this will resume as soon as possible after receipt of your Subscription renewal. A letter confirming your continuing membership of the AICH will be sent to you upon receipt of your Subscription Form and membership fee. In the event that you do not return your Subscription renewal for any one year, please note that you will not automatically receive an invitation to join the following year. You are still entitled to join at any time throughout the year but you will need to contact the ICH office to make the necessary arrangements.

Meetings take place four times a year (normally in January, April, July and October) and are usually held at King's College in the evening (starting at 7pm). They are intended to enable ICH graduates to keep in touch with each other and to offer them the opportunity to discuss any professional issues with each other. A guest speaker is normally invited to report on the latest developments in a particular field.

The 2008 meeting dates will be as follows:

Wednesday, 16th January 2008;

Wednesday, 16th April 2008;

Wednesday, 16th July 2008; and

Wednesday, 15th October 2008.
