your part we can help give you the best possible chance of doing so.
We will teach you the newest psychological techniques available to
help you to get thin and fit and stay that way.

What to Expect
All participants start off with an individual consultation to assess
what they have done in the past, what their specific difficulties
are and of course what they are aiming to achieve.
This is followed by 12 Monday weekly sessions at Harley Street.
Realistically three months is usually the time it takes to really
learn new skills and entrench new habits. The power of the group
can help promote and achieve success. The group sessions start at
6.30pm and finish at 8.00pm.
At each group session participants will be weighed, their inter
session assignments will be checked, successes and difficulties will
be aired, solutions will be discussed and new techniques will be
taught.

What will it cost?
The total cost of The Harley Street Weight Management Group (HSWMG)
course is £970. This is payable on enrolment by credit/debit card,
cheque or cash.
Who will be running the groups?
The groups will be
run by Nicola Martin and Phil Pearl. They
are both experienced
professionals in the area of weight management. They look forward
to meeting you to help you resolve your weight once and for all.

Nicola Martin MSc MCH
Nicola Martin first became fascinated with weight control
at the age of 14 when she and most of her girlfriends embarked
on their first diet. This started a lifelong interest in weight
control and eating disorder issues. This fascination became
exacerbated by the advent of the ‘obesity epidemic’ in the UK.
Nicola is Principal of The Institute of
Clinical Hypnosis where she is renowned for being an experienced
and entertaining lecturer. She has been involved in hypnosis
and psychotherapy for over 20 years and has successful private
practices in Harley Street and South London (Balham). Nicola
has an MSc from London University where she studied Rational
Emotive and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (RECBT). Her chosen dissertation was
on was Eating Disorders.
A major passion of
Nicola’s is to share her expertise and knowledge with others.

Phil Pearl MCH
Phil
Pearl
specialises in mental toughness and confidence. He provides
coaching and training for government departments, teachers,
private and public organisations. Phil is a keen weight loss
enthusiast and gym member, he is passionate about helping people
challenge their outlook and change their thinking, so they can
achieve their objectives with confidence.
Phil is a qualified
Master Clinical Hypnotherapist, and has private practices in
Harley Street and Kensington, London. His approach is based on
Mental Toughness, CBT and Existential Therapy.

We cannot guarantee or force you to lose weight
and keep the weight off. However, we are committed to providing you
with the best possible chance of doing so.
Refund Policy
We regret that we cannot offer
refunds due to the limited spaces available on our groups. However,
to the best of our ability we will accommodate anybody who has to
defer to a future group.
Here
is just a taster of some of the areas that
are covered over the 12 weekly group sessions:
Thinking and Beliefs
What we think and what we tell ourselves is
vital to the success of our diets and on-going lifestyle changes.
Our thinking is the key to who we are, how we view ourselves and
what we do. What we tell ourselves can either lead us to weight-loss
victory or sabotage our slimming success. We will show you how
to manage hunger, cravings and temptations. We will teach you how to
think like a thin person, so that you have the mental attitude and
mindset of a thin person.
Emotions
In order to stick to a diet and maintain our
weight loss, we need to be mentally and emotionally robust. We may
turn to food in order to cope with everyday emotions such as
anxiety, anger, frustration and boredom. We will teach you methods
that are tested and proven to stop emotional eating, so that you can
stay on track. We will also show you how to enhance your positive
and helpful emotions, so that you will find it easier to persevere
and persist when the going gets tough.
Behaviour
Successful weight management means changing our
old habits, routines and patterns of behaviour that may have
contributed to our difficulties. The good news is that these habits
are simply things we have learned over time. This means that we can
'unlearn' them and replace them with the effective behaviour that is
naturally and automatically used by thin
people. We will also
show you how to manage other people’s behaviour and any challenging
events, situations and environments.
Physical
Exercise needn’t be complicated. We will
support you in planning to exercise more and increasing your
physical activity, so that your diet fits into an overall fitness
and wellbeing plan. Losing weight, being healthier and slimmer means
that you will have more energy and strength, so that exercise and
activity will become more a natural part of the new you. We will
also teach you physical and mental relaxation techniques and mental
rehearsal skills to enhance your motivation and determination.
Changes for Life
The great news is that the skills, thinking and attitudes that you
will learn in this group are transferable to many other areas of
your personal and professional lives. We are teaching you
empirically tested and validated interventions from clinical
psychotherapy. Putting into action what you learn and experience
over just twelve weeks could have a major impact on your current and
future physical and mental wellbeing. This could be just the start
of your personal reinvention and a whole new you.
